Matt Russell is a London based Photographer and Director. He has spent years honing a photographic style that has established him as a highly sought after photographer and director. Matt’s ability to make food look stunning whilst always natural and authentic shows a unique understanding of his subject. As well as food, his work encompasses travel, lifestyle, editorial, and portraiture. He captures the stories of the people and places he encounters, and finds the exceptional in the characters, food and landscapes.
Matt loves to work closely with clients to achieve their vision for both editorial and advertising. He has created advertising campaigns for Waitrose & Partners, Colmans, Diageo, Harrods, Hellmanns, Seven Seas, Costa and Johnnie Walker.
In addition he has worked with some of the biggest and most respected food brands and icons in the industry, including The River Cafe, Mildreds, Jamie Oliver, Anna Jones, Joseph Trivelli and Yasmin Khan. He’s a regular contributor to The Guardian, as well as being featured in editorials such as The Times, Observer Food Monthly, Waitrose Food Magazine and Conde Nast Traveller. His work has been published by some of the most respected publishers such as Phaidon, Bloomsbury, 4th Estate, Hardie Grant, Pavilion and Octopus.
Matt is also the co-founder of Grocery Studios. A North London photographic studio and creative workspace, home to a community of photographers and directors.
